GPAR BULL TEST CONSIGNMENTS ‘08
We feel that gain testing our bulls gives us an indication of how GPAR genetics compare for performance with other programs. Last year, our expectations were exceeded by GPAR Weight Maker S15, the bull who won it all for us at the famous Midland Bull Test at Columbus, Montana, and set a new gain record in the process!
This year, we sent a sire group of four outstanding sons of Mytty In Focus to Midland, including a son of the M249 cow. This makes him a maternal brother to GPAR Weight Maker S15. He showed a lot of promise with his weaning performance here at the ranch, and he is Lot #373 at Midland.
Most of our cow herd have either Precision or New Design up close in their pedigrees and quite often, both. We feel the In Focus bull makes an excellent outcross for these females, and it sure worked this year. Of course, a lot happens between now and when the bulls go off test at the end of March, but we feel that these bulls have a lot of potential. Be sure to look them up.
Also, we sent four bulls to Treasure Test again this year, including two by GAR Solution, one by TC Total 410, and one by Twin Valley Precision E161. The TC Total bull is also entered in the Single Shot Jack Pot contest.
To the WCA/WSU Bull Test held at Prosser, Washington, we sent a son of Bon View New Design 208, a son of Rito 6I6, and two E.T. sons of GAR Solution. Nearly all of these bulls go back to cows purchased from the Gardiner Angus Ranch in Ashland, Kansas.
