We began our GAR influenced line in 2002 when we acquired GAR Commitment 198. She is a low BW female tracing back to Blacklass 103, Sleep Easy’s dam, with excellent production ratios for BW, WW, YW, and %IMF: 3-94, 3-103, 2-104, 10-115 respectively, with rankings in the top 10% of the breed for YW and top 5% for %IMF. One of her daughters, GAR Precision 191, is the dam of one of Select Sires’ upcoming young sires, GAR Prediction. With what we’ve seen of this female line, he’ll no doubt offer added carcass quality to any mating.

Sitz Barbara Perfection 93T. We purchased this female as one of the featured bred heifers in the 2009 Sitz Female Sale. She epitomizes the Sitz female type and kind: deep, wedge shaped, moderate-framed and with abundant milk in a strongly-attached udder. Her extremely quiet disposition is an added plus, and she is raising an outstanding bull calf. We think she has serious potential as a future donor cow, and she was a large part of our decision to purchase a son of Sitz Upward 307R as a herd bull. |

Thomas Erica 6007. We acquired Erica 6007 as one of the top-selling bred heifers in the 2007 Thomas Angus Ranch Female Sale. She is a very stout, deep-bodied New Design 208 x BCC Bushwacker female with EPD’s at the top of the breed for Weaning Weight, Ribeye and $W. She’s done an excellent job with her first calves, and she will likely be flushed in the near future. |
